Hi guys, am trying to figure out what tow bar options are available for my 2014 2.5 Pajero Sport.
Did a search here and couldn't find anything.
What tow bar do you have on your Sport and what was the cost? A pic would be good.
I have seen in some places that OEM tow bars going for around R5k. I don't know what the normal tow bars at the Hi-Q/Speedy will go for but my concern here is that it would be too bulky, sticking out the back and affecting the departure angle significantly.
What are your suggestions.
thanks

Get it via the stealers. The Speedy and HiQ quality very poor.
I had two installed on my Paj before I was satisfied.
Expensive but worth it.
It will always interfere with the angles.
Must be the same rating as your Sport.

I have the exact same model & year and had a bosal unit fitted at Tyres & More for R4200 in Aug this year. Bosal does the OEM for Mitsu and it even has the Mitsu spec plate on the towbar.....

And from this photo you can see how the exit angles will change.
I rejected two Bosal towbars due to simple things like holes drilled same diameter as bolts.
Even spoke to their factory engineer to voice my dissatisfaction.
You just cannot afford a suspect towing system.
A friend of mine with a Merc ML had a towbar breaking whilst towing a big Jurgens.
That was a big lesson to me.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback.
The stealer price that I indicated in my first post was wrong (quoted it from another forum but it proved to be an old price)
Current price from stealers is i. The region of R6500.
This is for an OEM tow bar that is actually manufactured by bosal, and also conformed by your post CleRoux.
I also got a quote from Tyres and More but it was for a SA-towbar (or something like that) at about R5,500.
Seeing that the Bosal is the OEM I am going to go back to Tyres and More to see if they can also quote me on the Bosal one but I doupt that it will be at R4200. Will try.
At least I know that the stealers quoted me R2,790 excl vat just for the towbar (excl fitment) so i could probably also use that to negotiate a good price.
