Pajero Owners Club of South Africa

I own a 2000 Pajero 3l V6 SWB and and am about to use it to tow a Gypsey Regal, however after all that has been written about the weight ratio and people being fined I am very confused.
I have read the literature but it really makes no sense to me.

I was told I can tow a caravan weighing up to 3000kg, is this correct?

I really would appreciate some advice.
