Servicing our "new" Pajero
Hi Guys

Firstly- Happy new year!!

I'll need your help as a new proud owner of a 2005 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.8 PetrolLWB. And just want to look after it properly as to keep it for many years and memories.

I need some advice on where to get the best reliable guaranteed Service for our Pajero to keep it going till we have to drive around during the apocalypse while driving over Zombies, while feeling confident that something will not set on fire due to spontaneous combustion?

I saw a lot of good comments on Facebook about MitsiTech but ultimately, I'll need the help of the Pajero generals of South Africa. (That is you guys) who have had experience and can compare the different service providers.
I have requested a quote from MitsiTech and From SAC(Steves Auto Clinic) for a major service.
MitsiTech is slightly better priced than SAC.
MitsiTech is a Mitsubishi Specialist and SAC is a very respectable Place for all 4x4 Services and add on's.

As I understand from what I have heard MitsiTech is top notch in taking care of Pajero's, but..
MitsiTech did not give me a detialed list of what a Major service includes, where SAC has a very descriptive list of what will be done.
Here is the list.

Re: Servicing our "new" Pajero
Hi.
Great, great car.
Services:
1) what km is your car - timing belt gets done every 90k
2) do you have service history pertaining to timing belt and spark plugs? Long life platinum tipped plugs can last as long as the timing belt.
3) what autobox service history do you have? Check the current level and condition of the oil. If anything is off, seriously consider a full flush and filter change.
4) any baboon can check the stuff on their list (as if I believe they do half the stuff in any case). That list is for single mothers holding down 2 jobs.
5) highest recommended oil is Caltex Delo 400 15W40 multigrade and filter from the agents.

If you find a service centre that knows the timing belt replacement, difficult plug replacement and box oil flush and filter change, then you have the right place.
