Guys,
Can any-one please indicate or confirm what the standard alternator's output in volts is under load? Reason for asking is that i am busy with fitment of a duel battery (Royal NS79LMF) Calcium 65A/H and intend to use a National Luna intelligent solenoid as battery monitor. The auxiliary battery will be behind the starter battery in the engine bay and the vehicle in question is a 2015 Gen 4 SWB 3.2 DID.
Thanks,
Johan

Johan, I've done exactly the same. Te dealer(technical manager) in Nelspruit confirmed that my altenator is ok.

Just know that the National Lunar only opens after about 10min .
Meaning, it prioritize 10min for the starter battery alone.
So You can run your 2nd battery down if you don't run the enjin for longer periods.

Have a look in your vehicle hand book. As Fox says it is more than enough anyway. I run 2 x freezers in my system with an 85 a/h battery.

Thanks guys,
Saw that the standard alternator's output is 120w which is more than sufficient.

Your standard alternator will be much more than 120W, more like 1200W, around 90-100 amp.

Sorry sorry,
Got confused between Watt and Amp.
It pushes out 120 Amp.

Morning guys,

I've been browsing the forum for info on this subject.
I've had a pair of Hella driving lights and a lightbar fitted to my Pajero Gen 2 LWB. The auto electrician says the alternator is struggling when they're on, but I'm not convinced.

Is there any good auto electricians out in Cape Town that anyone can recommend to check it out? Possibly rewire lights again for me?
