Hi All, I have an old 1993 2.5 Gen 2 which I'm restoring bit by bit. Being in Mauritius finding quality support and service is almost impossible. Thus I bring back the small parts from SA every time I travel.
With summer approaching, I would like to get the aircon pumping. The current one is just not cold enough.
Any suggestions on how to increase the aircon efficiency?
One "expert" over here suggested a larger alternator as the current one is not strong enough to fully power the aircon and all other electronics?
If I do need to change or upgrade the aircon, what would you suggest?
Thanks
Can anyone suggest a make and model compressor as replacement for the standard unit? tx
Hi Sentinel.
Your 1993 Pajero probably has a 4D56 motor. Common to pre-1996 Colt bakkies, so that's the place to look for replacement motor parts. The alternator just keeps the battery charged, which in turn provides the power for the hot/cold air circulation fan motor. The air conditioner compressor is belt driven. I suspect that the A/C gas pressure is low - get it re-gassed. The guy that does the re-gassing will be able to check for any other problems in the A/C system. Good luck
