My 2000 DID engine was rebuilt about 40000km ago in Pta. Injectors replaced and fuel pump repaired by Randburg Diesel. Vehicle performs fine up here, but seems to go into some form of limp mode closer to sea level. First time around on the way to Sodwana and recovered around the same spot on the way back, and now again on the way to Natal South coast.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Check your MAP sensor (mounted on the firewall next to fuel filter), the pipe (not blocked or perished) and make sure the fitting on the manifold is clear (use something like a tooth pick or thin wire to push into the hole of the fitting on the inlet manifold - do not force it or break it off!)
