Hi guys
During last week in Kruger I experienced a strange behaviour with the 3.2 l engine a couple of times.
It was fairly hot and we krept along mostly in 2nd gear with frequent stops and starts. No problem there and also no problem on highway.
But when I switched the engine off (at waterholes or sightings) and switched on again, the engine did not fire despite strong starter /battery. Switch off and after 20 or so seconds try again and with pumping the gas pedal once or twice the engine starts again 5 seconds after using the starter . Normally the engine fires nearly immediately.
On the way from Joburg to Kruger and back no problem....the engines performs as normal and does not cut out during driving at all.
Only after switch off and re start after 10 or even 60 minutes (e.g. lunch at Milly's or gas station) no firing but after one pump or two with the gas pedal while the starter turns des the trick.
Did anybody experience the same problem ? Fuel filter ? air in fuel ? fuel pump?
@ weeks ago we did 4.500 km to visit Namaqualand with no problem whatsoever but 4 weeks ago it happened once in the Pilanesberg Reserve - also after some hours slow driving and then stopping the engine.
