HI guys bought scanner for my Pajero. Unfortunately it dosen't communicate as Pajero uses MUT 2 although same connection. Has anyone found one that's functional with the Pajero. Or is it not a problem with later ones mines a 2001/2. As the athacment says ground term one observe the relevant lights to diagnose.

Hi Rob

My sons purchased mine from TakeALot, and it works well. The one I have works on my son's Jimny and we have tested it on numerous vehicles, including the old TAZZ, without issues. Have you downloaded the correct software? It should tell you the best one on the box, mine uses InfoCar and seems to cover all the Pajero production years. With the Jimny, my son does lose the bluetooth connection occasionally.

It's the C-TECH version.

The Pajero Gen 4 used OBD2. I bought mine online and use the Torque Pro software.

Hi Dirty Dog,
Re the scanners glad yours working good. I also got from Takealot Konnwei KW850 so not the basic scanner. It came up unable to communicate. Tested on my Ford worked. Did more research mines a Gen 3 2002 model 3.5 petrol GDI ex UK. Found it uses a different communications platform. Mitsubishi refer to it as MUT - 11. Not sure if that's just their trade name.

Got given an apparently recommended one by a fellow 4x4 Action Group member a while ago. Hooked it up and told me enough to investigate more when I had time.

As soon as I removed it, engine light came on and D flashed continously.

Drove home the next day 200kms with this going on. No lack of power at all, all was normal. Gearbox included.

When at home I disconnected the battery and reconnected. Ño change.

Two days later the engine light went off and stayed off.

I will never know what happened.

Free to a good home......

My ELM is connected full time as I constantly use the Torque Pro app to monitor things like transmission temp, fuel rail pressure and much more.

When my SCV was playing up I had no codes but I could see fuel rail pressure spiking during idle. After replacement the fuel rail pressure was quite stable during idle with increase when revs increase

Interesting, thanks.

Looks like it is worth having one of these.

Just remember that the ELM only works on Gen 4. Gen 3 is not OBD compliant.
