Good morning, my first post.
I have a 2013 SWB Pajero. The door locks won’t engage when the little knob is pressed, but it works fine from the remote.
I injured my back so I cannot search high and low to find the reason. Is this a common problem and can it be fixed easily?

That sounds like the knob contacts are faulty.

But: check all the fuses first if none are blown.

The console in the door clips out easily with a screw driver. just protect the plastic with a cloth or sorts. I have not done this on a Paj but on other cars.

Once the switch is exposed you can disconnect the plug. check if the wiring and connectors are still connected If all good try to disassemble it to see what condition the contacts are in. If they are burned and accessible with a small file or even a nail file, try to clean them up.

This is an unusual fault, those switches don't just fail.
