Battery charger - which one?

Now that I have invested in a dual battery system, the next piece of equipment I would like to acquire is a 220V battery charger. I have no knowledge of battery chargers, so it is difficult for me to determine the difference between a average and a good one.
If one takes the price as an indication of the quality, then the C-Tek 7000 (as suggested by the people whom installed my dual battery system) is a top of the range charger because they are in excess of R1000. But then, at Checkers, they also sell chargers. They are going for about R350, which is substantially less than the C-Tek......
So, what do I buy? Is the Checkers one (the MotoQuip brand) any good? What would you recommend should be the minimum specification be of a reasonable battery charger for car batteries?
Cheers

I would have two requirements:
- It has to be an intelligent charger
- it must be rated to charge you battery / batteries
Support Family_Dog (he is a member here).
He sells the Benton chargers.
I use the Benton BX-2 and I'm very happy with it.
(From the above, I think scratch the Checkers cheapy idea!

)

I concur with Oom 4e...
Do NOT but a cheapy charger as they are NOT intelligent chargers.
I use a Benton BX-1... this is a bit smaller than I really should have, but only really use it as a top up (i.e I don't need rapid charging generally)

A couple of months ago I went through the same exercise of looking for a good intelligent multistage 220v charger. After reading up on the forums and having a chat with Family_Dog, I settled on a Benton BX-1 which I bought at Yebo Electronics in Boston. I have not looked back as yet. I revived two batteries with it thus far and also using it to have my 105aH charged at home perm.
My next venture is to decide if I should go for a solenoid type setup or DC-DC for a dual battery installation..

If you are refering to his
"DC-DC"item, I suspect he was referring to a
Direct
Current (±12V) to
Direct
Current (±12V) charger, as opposed to the normal AC (220V~) to DC (±12V) charger.
(DC does not refer to
Deep
Cycle, here)

4ePajero, I hear you.
To resolve the ambiguity in my question, Jaco_n, do you use your Benton BX1 to charge a deep cycle battery?
