Switched 12V feed in the engine compartment

Hi folks,
I'm looking for electrical advice please.
I need to find the best/most convenient way to get a switched (ie: Ignition on, feed on / Ignition off, feed off) 12V positive feed in the engine compartment. Current draw would not be high as it would only power a relay.
In case it matters, I have the Gen3, 3.2 Diesel.
Thanks
Bruce

You can tap a switched feed off the wiper motor.

Thanks Gerrit, I'll test that option with a multimeter this weekend.
I never considered the wiper motor because I was under the impression that it would only recieve positive current when the ignition is on AND the wiper control switch is activated.
I'll be very happy if it works
Regards
Bruce

Hi guys,
I tested the wiper moter feed and it is indeed switched. Thanks for the tip Gerrit.
In addition to that I found another switched feed which is unused at the momen but before using it I would like to know what it is. I don't want to cause problems! Have a look at the attached pic to see if you recognise it.
Many thanks
Bruce

I have a similar connection in that location for my gen2 petrol. If I connect 12v to it, it runs the fuel pump. Yours might be similar.

Hi
I have build my compressor into my engine and would also want to run it from switched current, will the wiper motor be able to supply the current for the compressor?
Actually, I would only want the compressor to be able to run if the alternator is running ie. if the engine is running. Is this possible?
Regards,

Can you post pictures of your installation? In a separate thread please;)
