Reverse lights switch location

I have a 1991 2.5 diesel 5 speed.... Can anyone let me know where I can find the reverse lights switch on the gearbox or wherever? I have checked the bulbs and the fuse.

i have the 2.8 tdi,

i found my switch just above the transfer case where above the first universal on the driveshaft to the front wheels
