Why am I not surprised?

I'm pretty predictable

Is there anything about South Africa that is acceptable to you?

Sure - many things, here is just a few examples:

• clearly better than in every country I worked so far: the climate,
• nice for us: the COLI - 25% more purchasing power than in Europe,
• outside JHB: clearly more impressive - the beautiful countryside around the towns in rural areas,
• less regulation - makes many things easier than in Germany, i.e. traffic rules...they exist but almost nobody takes care...
• A lot of nice crafts work to bring home.

There is also many things on the "downside" beyond the crime rate...but I'm not going to list it here.

By the way - the restaurants in France and Italy are also far better then the ones in Germany...just try to accept others opinion.
