Centre diff light flashing on 2003 3.2DID

Hi there I please need with a problem I have on my Pajero , I need to sort this problem out ASAP!!!
This all started a few weeks ago, I was driving in 2 Wheel Drive and all of a sudden a grinding sound came from the front wheels, almost sounded like gears grating.
I then engaged 4WD high range and the problem went away. I then put it back into 2 Wheel Drive and all was well for a couple of days, unfortunately it started again a few days later. I followed the same procedure as before but when I tried to engage 2 Wheel Drive again the orange centre diff lock light started flashing and would not stop, no matter what I did. I then suspected that even though the selector was in 2 Wheel Drive it felt like it was in 4WD. I knew one of the technicians at our local agents who ran a full diagnostics on the vehicle which said that the free wheel solonoid was faulty. A friend of mine has got a 2001 3.2 Pajero sitting in his garden without an engine, from which I borrowed the solonoid and put it in my vehicle. The orange light still carried on flashing so I took it to the agents again for a full check up and they diagnosed the problem as one of the electronic modules behind the console. They told me which one it was and I borrowed this part from my friends car and installed it as the agents told me this part would only be available at the end of January ex Japan. It goes without saying that this orange light is still flashing. What does anybody suggest Many Thanks Chris
