Battery Replacement

Tue Jan 12, 2010 8:40 pm

I had to replace my Pajero's battery today. I believe that, appart from resetting the compass, that there are more setting to be set. Could anybody shed more light on this subject? I have not yet driven the car and the person at the battery centre sugested that I take the car in to the dealer. What happens if I change/borrow a battery in the bush? There is no dealer close by? Your response will be appreciated.

If you work carefully you can change the battery while using jumper leads to avoid setting losses.

For a GEN III: you need to reset the size of the car (SWB/LWB), the fuel (Petrol/diesel), the date and time and run around in slow circles to get the compass settled - that's it.

No idea for the other generations...

PS: don't hazzle around with jumpers in the bush...a lost battery at that stage doesn't help....
