Self Catering - Swakopmund

Hi All

We are planning a 2 week trip to NAM in July - mostly camping but part of family deal (dont go there) is to spend couple nights in a self catering type spot in Swakopmund.

Requirements:
Safe parking for car + trailer (roof rack - camping equip etc)
Kid friendly - 9 & 3.5 year old - well behaved of course
Middle range - not too pricey but decent
Walking distance to main attractions

Any suggestions ?

Contact Sophiadale http://www.sophiadale.org/ they are just outside of town. They have camping and self catering. They have their own butchery and restaurant and make the best eisbein you will ever have. From there you can drive to the moon landscape etc, welwitchias and so on.
Get a permit in town at the environmental office.

The highlighted places are quite good but if I have to select one it will be Alte Brucke. They have a camp site and Self catering chalets.

Hi,

We usually stay at the waterfront just on the outskirts of Swakopmund, the units are literally 10metres from the sea (see google earth view on the below link), really nice places, safe, and have a double garage (not sure about roofrack and door height though), but we don't stress about safety here either. A bit on the high side, but nice to spoil yourself a little sometimes too I guess. The beach is very private as well with locals selling crayfish, or you can pull them our yourself with the necessary licenses I guess, brrrrrrr:
