Cats, where did you get the cable and where did you have the installation done? I want to do it!

Gerbek

The cable was just a normal aux cable with two male ends. Get one of the longer ones if available. One end is cut off and soldered onto the wires as per this Ausie post after you took the radio out (which you should be able to do easily)

http://www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/sho ... p?p=248409

In my case the yellow cable was a grey cable but they were in the same position.

I had mine done at Cellsound in Centurion but it really is easy to do it yourself. This link above give step by step instructions.

OK.

So the roofrack as well as tracks was transfered to Casper. No issue at all with the transfer. The roofrack is an African Outback rack and I think is actually a SWB rack as there is still a lot of roof space left open, which is great on the gen4 GLS model with its huge sunroof, as it still leave some space open to stand and look out at the sunroof.
The rack has 'expidition' lights up front, two floodlights(rear and right), proper size fire extinguisher, two travel bags, one for wood/charcoal and one for the groundsheets. It also has an African Outback Ostrichwing awning with led lighting strip. Under the rack is space to slide in a 80Watt solar panel that can be plugged in when pulled out to assist in keeping the two aux batteries in the third seat well charged when stationary(sp?) for a while. I carry one extra spare tyre on there as well on remote trips. It is fitted with attachment points for my High-lift jack and spade(for the fire off course, not for getting unstuck hopefully :-) )

The lights get power from two sources with cabling running down the front hidden in the front window rubber and in the rear behind the rear door when closed.

Will do photo tomorrow. The one I have now is crappy.

So I also took of the custom rocksliders ftom my old gen 3 and fitted them on the gen4. Fitted easily with only a mild grinding on one arm to fit. Due to my old gen3 having different plastics underneath the sliders seem a bit short on the gen4. Will see if I keep it but it has started to grow on me. Much stronger than the plastic side steps, but a hell of a lot more heavy!

I painted them black with bakkie liner paint before fitting and will see how they last. They were silver on my old Snoopy.

What do you think? Keep or chuck?

I finaly got a new towbar fitted that enable me to tow at a higher level.

With it I also had the Stofpad4x4 sparewheel lifter plate fitted. It also helps to be able to open the door, even when hooked up.

See thread here on the sparewheel lift.

So with all the items being transfered, especially the electrical stuff like radios, extra lights, spotlights, compressor, aux fuel pump etc, I made sure to get all the fuses and relays for them in ONE place rather than all over the show. I used a Bluesea fuse box and my mechanic decided to build a strut to mount all the relays. There is then also only one propper pickup of power from the battery.

I think it should be the first mod on anyone's vehicle. Otherwise you end up not knowing where to start searching when a fuse blows.
