Hi All
I am new to the club.
I seem to have a very scarce model Pajero.
I have never seen another model quite like mine.
It is a first generation, 5 door. 1982-1988?
It has a very squared off body.
Engine: Astron 2.6 litre petrol 4G54 14 Engine.
It was also called the Shogun.
Mitsubishi Pajero NA - NE 4G54 SOHC 8v.
The Mitsubishi Pajero with the 4G54 engine was released during 1982 to 1991. Available in a short and long wheel base model, this was an excellent four wheel drive vehicle. Not too heavy compared to other larger brands, it could tow quite easily for medium loads and was still small enough to drive around local streets with ease.
The 4G54 engine with its 2.6 litre capacity, was a very strong low to mid range rpm in torque. Running a single two Venturi down draft carburetor, the engine produced
• 85 kW (114 hp) at 5000 rpm (91 RON)
• 198 nm (146 lb-ft) at 3000 rpm (91 RON)
• Compression ratio: 8.8:1
Anybody out there with a similar model?

Guzzi,

Welcome to the forum!

Yes,that is the Gen1 Pajero, of which there are quite a few around, most of them with the 4D56 (2.5 TDi) engine.

They were very good SUVs, way ahead of their time.

I had one, a 2500 Exceed (luxury version) which I recently scrapped.
The rolling chassis is available for spares. ;)

Morning All,

What model / year is your Pajero? 2000 3.5 V6 Gen 2.5
How much mileage had your Pajero done? 238 000
Is it the original motor? Yes, bought it 6 months ago FSH
Any major work? According to FSH no major work listed

So far very happy with this, after disposing of a Discovery.

I have a 1994 pajero LWB 3l V6. It has just over 430000 km on the clock now. Only major problem is that it needs a new clutch. I'm still going to get many more fun kilometres out of her.
