Hi All,
my 2007 DiD with 323000km has recently started having an intermittent issue (more often when hot...) where it would have very low power on pull away, up to 2000 rpm from which it will pick up again. Using an OBD scan tool reveals no fault codes.
A Google search indicated a sticky SCV could be a possibility, but I would like it to be properly diagnosed before throwing money at it. I replaced the SCV once before (but it had different symptoms then, hard starting and uneven idle). The NISSAN DENSO part A6860-VM09A has since gone up in price from R2000 to R5000. Mitsu Boksburg quoted R6000 but no stock.
Any good mech in Randburg/Sandton/Fourways area that might be able to diagnose, that can be recommended? Any other possibilities a DIYèr can check?
Would it be recommended to have turbo and injectors checked at this mileage too? If so, who can be recommended for that too?
Awaiting your recommendations..
Henk

Do you have access to obd tool that can be used while driving? If yes you may be able to look at turbo pressure during acceleration. The pressure should go to around 1 bar from 1700 rpm. If it doesn't you have an indication where to look

I Have a 2008 3.2 did SWB.....266000km....with all services done by the agents....Very good condition....with the same acceleration problem.
It seems worse on hot summer days on the higher altitudes like Johannesburg.....down at the coast things seem better - problem probably shielded by the higher ambient air pressure at the coast.
Once you above 2000rpm things are fine and she then goes like normal. Cooler days at higher altitudes there is no problem - at least not THAT conspicuous.

Guys
If you need spares try importing directly via Amaya Trading - they have all the various spares at half the rice than the local people. IU import a lot of sdpasres for my 2001 Gen3, even body parts from them also for my nissan navara got it quicker and cheaper that what the local people could do.

Re: Gen IV DiD Intermittent No Power on pull away (no fault codes)
I have 2007 DID 3.2 gen 4. Which was doing the same which is now resolved. No code just no power at below 2000 rpm’s. Hotter days it seamed worse.
Long story short, I cleaned the MAF sensor on the air intake with a sensor cleaner. It now drives 100 times better.
I hope this helps you.

Thank You All!
I ended up replacing the SCV with one from this place (Midrand/Glenaustin), for R1795:
https://dieselpartsandinjectors.co.za/s ... -0360.html
He says it comes from Europe (probably not Denso then....) but said he has sold plenty with no comebacks...., made a huge difference but still did not quite solve the problem. I too then cleaned the MAF with electrical cleaner, and also checked MAP piping. This has seemingly solved my issues, although I have not towed in hot weather since.
Regards
Henk
