Gen4 - Radio removal
I recently bought a 2007 3.2 GLX and there is a CD stuck inside what seems to be a front loader CD player. Does anybody know how to remove the radio from the console (without using an axe!) ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Hehe, carefully
Sorry I dont know, though the whole front panel / face comes off. Behind that, its a large square box, being the radio. Once you have it out, mostly its a loose connection that causes that.
The stealers reckon its copied CD's that get stuck because they are thinner than originals
, though I have had originals stuck in mine... also, I have used a micrometer to compare the thickness of an original CD and the ones used to copy.... They are all exactly the same.

Re: Gen4 - Radio removal
Hi Vossie,
Do as follow, first remove the venthousing left and right to the radio. Remove hazard switch plug on right venthousing. (They come out with a decent thug). Then remove the climate controls under the radio the same way. The face of the radio should come off by gently pushing it to the bottom and outwards.(towards you) Then remove the screws 4x that secures the radio to the dash.
Just did mine to fit the auxilary iPod cable. Cable R 498,00 at stealers. Stealers wanted to charge me R 900,00 to fit the cable, I did it in 30min![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Re: Gen4 - Radio removal
Quick question regarding the I-pod cable from the stealers, does it charge the ipod as well, and can you control the ipod from the radio ?
Thanks

Re: Gen4 - Radio removal
No, its only a aux input via the 3,5mm earphone jack of the iPod, does not charge or control the iPod
However there is a replacement radio/DVD/GPS inc iPod contoller with rear camera unit available.
