Model: 2004 3.2 DID shorty.
Mileage: 160000kms
Original motor: Yes
Issues:
1. Replaced drivers side companion shaft - popped out at 120000kms.
2. Replaced 2 light bulbs, brake light and number plate light.
3. Replaced 1 glow plug, I broke it off in the head trying to remove it. The dealers charged me £500-00 to fix. I will not be changing any more of these myself.
4. Replaced original batteries at 155000kms.
5. Some rust around top corners of rear window, surface rust only. Had this repainted at 140000kms.
I have owned the car for 9 years and bought it in SA at less than a year old. Exported it to the UK in 2008.

Re: High Mileage Club (>150000km)
What model / year is your Pajero? 1998 3.5 DOHC LWB
How much mileage had your Pajero done? 312000
Is it the original motor? Yes
Any major work? Would like to know.
Hi guys, any advice will be appreciated.
I bought the vehicle 2 weeks ago and it has full service history up till 290 000 km. The last 7 years she was serviced at Mistubishi Sandton / Bryanston. I phoned them last week to find out when the last belt service was done and a technician informed me that the ownership at dealership changed earlier this year and the computer with the service history left with them. I promised I would not swear so I will just say aw shucks, darn.
Does anyone know the previous owner? Is it possible to get to that information? Basically I would love to not fork out the R7000 in spares to do the belt service right now but I cannot drive around not knowing when the last belt service was performed. So if that information is gone then I will have to do the service.
It should not be a problem if it were not for the fact that MM East rand cannot source half the stuff I need for the service. She has done 312k so I would like to do tensioner, all oil seals and water pump together with bearings and belt. Unfortunately MM East rand are unable to supply Waterpump, Cam seals, crank seal and one of the utility belts...
2 Questions
1. Can anyone advise where I can find a good spare shop in Joburg which stock these parts? I would love to go OE parts only but considering the vehicle mileage and age do not want to dump the bank into fixing her just yet.
2. At what intervals were these cam belts usually replaced by the dealers? Every 90k or every 100k? i.o.w. What do you think the possibility is that the cam belt was replaced at 270 000km?
Any help and assistance will be appreciated
Regards,
Johan

Re: High Mileage Club (>150000km)
Hi Guys,
I'm new to the Pajero family,
I got a 2004 SWB 3.2 DID GLS
got 224000 km on clock
got the pajero in George.
had to change all the belts 2 weeks after I had it
the brake lights was not working, so I fitted bulb fittings into the "dummy" lights at the back.
The tires I got on rides to hard even if I bring the pressure down to 1,5 Bar any suggestions ?

Guys,
Please stick to the topic of this thread.
This thread is all about Mitsubishis with high km distances, not discussions about other (related?) issues.
You are very welcome to start new threads to discuss these issues (you will probably also get more response in a aptly named thread)
Thanks,

What model / year is your Pajero? Gen2 SWB 3000 V6 1997
How much mileage had your Pajero done? 304 000
Is it the original motor? Yes
Any major work? No idea
Bought the car November 2014 at 297000 km.
Immediately did the following:
[*]Cambelt & Fanbelt
[*]Major oil service
[*]Compression test
[*]Free flow Exhaust system
[*]New Shocks all round
[*]Chip & dynatune
[*]Smash & Grab
Took it for some 4x4 trips in Western Cape. Experienced some problems:
[*]Overheating. (Changed radiator to a 3 core, changed thermostat and radiator cap). Now 90%. Not 100% yet. Must switch off aircon when in low range and climbing more than 500m. (Apparently a slight leak in one of the heads causing excessive pressure in the radiator, but no sign off oil leaking into the water. Will keep an eye on it).
[*]Auxiliary petrol tank pipes all perished. Need to replace.
[*]Play on the steering wheel bush. Must repair.
[*]All rubber hoses to be replaced due to the excessive pressure in the radiator system. (I had one burst already!)
Apart from that I'm EXTREMELY happy with the car and intend to use it as my "Spinnekop" toy for quite some time! Even my consumption is better than expected at 13.0 l/100km.

What model / year is your Pajero? Gen3 LWB 3.2 D 2003
How much mileage had your Pajero done? 359 752
Is it the original motor? Yes
Any major work? Replaced injectors 90k kms ago
Using this car as a daily and when I go off roading.
Absolutely amazing car, best all rounder I have come across.
On my last trip to Namibia joined the guys with the big guns
going into the dunes and having a jol. Going everywhere the other okes with their 4.5's went without missing a beat. The guys were thoroughly impressed with the engine and could not believe the mileage on it.
The only downside I have with the Gen 3 is the bumper at the back that seems to scoop every grain of sand it can find. I cut mine linear to the crossmember at the back and it seems to be working like a charm.
Great vehicle this! Get one!
