Willem,
I'm also exited. Can't wait to go on my scouting expedition in two weeks' time. I hope Frik is available to back me up with his new SWB, as there is no cell reception in the mountain.

The venue is arranged with Sue at Fountain Baths, the first public pool in the old Transvaal. She'll supply salad, pap and sheba and plates and cutlery. I'll arange a fire and you guys bring your own meat, drinks, chairs and such.

Re: Barberton Tie in the Dots 2014
It has just gone half past five on a Sunday morning... I'm already up - have been doing a lot of thinking since yesterday evening.
The seriously tough track we scouted yesterday (photos posted elsewhere) does not fall inside my definition of a Tie in the Dots weekend. It is just too demanding and has very good potential to cause damage to somebody's Pajero.
So we will stick to roughly the same area as usual next month. We will try to alter the route to bring in some new sites and if I sense an interest, I promise to spend more time explaining the world class geology of the area.
The Tie in the Dots crowd can relax and know that I have the well being of your beloved Pajeros at heart. The spirit will once again be one of relaxed off-road driving, a few challenging bits and pieces and lovely scenery.
Sue is offering us a wonderful venue for our Saturday evening braai to finish off the day in style.
For those who are interested in doing the old wagon road Frik and I did yesterday, I will start a new thread and post as many photies as is reasonable. I will also give an account of the track as well as how the two Pajeros managed. I will also offer to facilitate the opportunity for members to set up a weekend to do the old wagon road, if they want to go and hammer their Pajeros up that mountain.
