Weekend trip to the Vic-Falls

Tue May 11, 2010 6:42 am

We still consider a weekend trip to the Vic-Falls. Ideally with accommodation on the Zambia side, i.e. Livingstone.

Here is a couple of questions:
1. Does anyone know where to find "weekend" offers ? My search on the net was not very succesfull,
2. Any visa or permits required for traveling into Zambia ?
3. What would be the recommended airline from JoBurg to Livingstone - if any ?
4. Is June a good season to go there - we have little other options left...

Thanks for advices ;)

I have no experience of this lot but I get monthly specials emailed to me from them and they seem to have a lot of Vic Falls specials currently;

Vic falls is a magic place to visit even in the 'off' season when the falls are somewhat lower. If you do visit make sure you do the elephant back safari in Zimbabwe side, make sure you have visa for this if required beforehand, agent should be able to assist.

Also visit Livingstone island, only possible when the falls are lower, for a swim at the falls edge and some lunch!

Thanks Cats - the links looks very interesting. In case we manage to go there, I'll drop a short report - even if it's w/o a Pajero ;)

I've contacted the agency and got a surprising email back....the offers they have are only valid for RSA passport-holders, not even RSA residents (work- & residence permit)...

They want to charge us almost 75% more... :evil: ...and can't explain what makes the difference between a RSA passportholder and others.

Bottom line - I cancelled that agency from the list ;)
