Dont know where else to post this:
Anyone know what the road is like between Eupopa Falls and Ruacana, Northern Namibia? We are looking at traveling along the track / river in a couple of weeks time (leaving saturday though:)). Any advice would be appreciated.

Kai, in the latest Weg! magazine is an article about Kaokoland. Not any info on that road except that it is 4x4 but useful info on camping spots and where to get fuel. Also contact numbers of lodges up there, maybe you can phone or e-mail to find out.
Please give us feedback and photo's when you get back as it is also on our list of places to visit soon

Hehe, trip report will come one of these days:)
All I can say is that the majority of Namibia's gravel roads are just about better that SA's tar roads. Just need to keep a very sharp eye out for river crossings where the road dips often without warning. Easily travel 100 - 120 (if you dont mind some corrigations) but WATCH THOSE DIPS.....
Unfortunatly did not do the Epeupa / Ruacana road due my Paj not having low range...... long story
but took the loooooong way round via Swaartboysdrift. From there to Ruacana via a couple of beers at Kunene River lodge.
As I said, will be sending out a trip report once I find the time to compile one

Hi
I did that route in December last year. Like some of the guys said overall is the roads not bad....Exept some corigations. If you look for a nice Bush Camp let me know? I have family up next to the Okawango river.
